In recent years, various kinds of reality TV show emerge one after another andthe star outdoor competitive reality show is notably popular. Due to geographicalproximity and cultural and aesthetic universality, Chinese television producers are infavor of South Korean reality TV show. From the overview of the development of staroutdoor competitive reality TV show, this paper expounds the definition, development,characteristics and positioning of the program, and studies the differences betweenChinese Running Man and the original South Korean version of “Running Man” withChinese Running Man launched by Zhejiang TV in the fourth quarter of2014as asample, from the perspective of show originality, production and marketing, deeplyanalyzes how Chinese Running Man carry out the localization innovation andtransformation. It sums up the law of development of this kind of TV show and itslocal modification progress space and the future prospect in order to bring referencevalue for the development of such reality TV show.On the basis of successful experience of the Korean version of “Running Man”,Chinese Running Man is made more suitable for Chinese national conditions and itsaudience tastes, regardless of the game ideas, character setting or theme of the story. Itintegrates with Chinese elements, passes on sunlight positive energy in edutainment,and attaches great importance to the spread of value and consensus of team, harmonyand respect as well as rendering of fraternal love, romantic love and nostalgia emotion.Concise and refining narrative method of series is used to shape interconnectedrelations of the characters in the game. Excellent prophase filming as well as editingand packaging of later period present visual and sound effects of “high conceptmovie”. In marketing, in combination with the integrated use of Internet thinking’semphasis on diversified means of, brand extension is used to build a completeindustrial chain.
