WCDMA Wireless Network Optimization

Network optimization is a process that improves the quality of the whole network and ensures the effective utilization of network resources. With rapid development of the multimedia mobile communication network with high speed, large capacity, high quality and globalization in twenty-first Century, the network optimization and management has rapidly become a hot topic in the research field. Network optimization has also become the biggest challenge to operators. Yichang network size has expanded from the beginning of1RNC,200sites in2013to more than1000sites,4RNC network size, covering the counties and their town. With the development of mobile data business, the enlargement of the network scale, the changing of wireless environment, planning and optimizing the network are more complex. According to the network characteristics such as large-scale, multiple users, wireless environment changing and etc., Yichang Unicom needs to carry out daily and special optimization in the whole network, to improve network quality. With the increasing importance of network optimization, network optimization technology will also be continuously improved and developed.Firstly, the wireless channel characteristics, the technical features of WCDMA system and the key technologies of WCDMA system are discussed in this thesis. Secondly, the optimization of WCDMA wireless network are studied and analyzed in detail from wireless environment optimization, parameter optimization, universal access performance optimization, call holding optimization and data service performance optimization etc. Then,based on analyzing the current situation of Yichang Unicom WCDMA network, deployment and implementation of the daily and specialoptimizationengineering are discussed. Finally, the network optimization work is summarized by comparing the optimization results, which provides a good reference for WCDMA optimization.
