The development of modern mobile communications have gone through two generations , and the third generation are now in the pre-commercial stage. The first stage is the analog cellular mobile communication network.Cellular network, that cell system, to achieve a frequency reuse and improve system capacity. Modulation for the analog of voice signal, an analog users may achieve every 30KHz/25KHz channel. The second stage is the digital mobile communications. GSM and IS-95 are representative. By FDD duplex mode GSM and TDMA multiple access method, each carrier frequency supports 8-channel, the signal bandwidth is 200KHz. As the second generation of mobile communications to transmit voice and low-speed data services for the purpose, since 1996, in order to solve the medium-speed data transmission, there had been 2.5-generation communication systems such as GPRS and IS-95B.The third generation mobile communication system is a kind of variety of types, high-quality multimedia services, to achieve seamless global coverage, global roaming capability, and the fixed network compatible with small portable devices at any time, anywhere, any kind communications systems. International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in May 2000 determined WCDMA, CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA air interface standards to write three mainstream 3G technical guidance documents. China Unicom on May 17, 2009 officially began commercial W-CDMA services. This design is based on China Unicom (CHU) Guangxi branch of laying, testing, optimizing the third generation mobile communications.The main contents include network optimization: network planning, engineering supervision, equipment troubleshooting, network testing, statistical data analysis, traffic balance, coverage optimization. As 2G, 2.5G, 3G all have different characteristics, which obviously is 2G voice services, voice optimized focus, 3G data services primarily to optimize focus is biased in favor of the data, they used the main technical difference is there .Therefore, network optimization work is also different.Finally, the main focus on the WCDMA network optimization, system construction from the WCDMA network to optimize a detailed description, including site investigation, planning site, single-station verification, DT test, the entire network DT testing, network optimization, optimization reports content. The network optimization focuses on the weak coverage optimization, parameter modification, were introduced in detail. The article describes a large number of examples.
