Because WCDMA is a interference with the limited communication system, the network optimization in WCDMA network is particularly important in the network construction. One of the most major characteristics for 3G network is the variety of new business, and user experience of the business mainly depends on the end-to-end network performance. In addition, the focus of network optimization and contents are different and complex corresponding to the different phases of the WCDMA.Network optimization is an essential part of the planning process and can improve the overall quality of the network continuously. And it can enhance the satisfaction for mobile end user. Furthermore, network planning is also an interaction with the process of optimization. In other words, when a network has been designed, network optimization should be considered simultaneously to find a best work situation for the network. However, network expansion is always companied with the increase of network traffic. Then, a new planning and optimization work should be redesigned. This is a continuous loop.The thesis is organized as follows:The first chapter is mainly describes the introduction of knowledge and our research work, This thesis focuses on the WCDMA network optimization project and has a good application due to the combination with the practice. Chapter 2 provides a brief overview of the theory of WCDMA technology, including the basic principles related to technology and implementations. Chapter 3 and 4 gives the main contribution of this thesis. Chapter 3 analyzes a special optimization project of WCDMA network at China Unicom Chifeng in detail. Chapter 4 describes several key issues during the implementation of the project. Chapter 5 summaries the network optimization work and proposes the further study which aims at the development of the company's business. |
