With the development of the broadband access technology and the market competition, thefiber to the home (FTTH) network has entered the era of large-scale deployment. OpticalDistribution Network (ODN) is one the most important parts of FTTH which is also difficult toimplemented. The planning, designing and construction of ODN has direct effect on the wholeFTTH system including cost, system performance and reliability, etc. This thesis presents acomprehensive study on ODN construction technologies.This thesis gives a brief introduction of FTTx technology along with the analysis ofdiffetent access technologies, firstly. The Passive Optical Network (PON) technology and itsapplication in FTTx are analyzed in detail. The construction and application strategy of ODN hasbeen studied comprehensively. Some ODN grid construction schemes and construct suggestionare proposed. Finally, a specific ODN network construction scheme for Dali Telecom is providedbased on the analysis of current network and service requirements. |
