With the rapid development of Internet scale and the user number, in order to meet the growing needs of users, to adapt to the fierce market competition situation. The construction of Jiangsu Telecom is dedicated to optical fiber access network, the implementation of "the development direction of copper back into the optical fiber " strategy as the network transformation.In this thesis, we research broadband access network of Qidong Telecom EPON project planning and implementation of the project.The paper firstly introduces the development process of PON technology, and further elaborated on the passive optical network based on Ethernet, mainly from EPON system structure, system composition and working principle of EPON, the key technology and its advantages in such areas as described.Analysis of this paper focus on the application mode of EPON, and combining the current situation of Qidong Telecom broadband access network, network planning scheme of Qidong Telecom optical access network, and then put forward various scenarios for ordinary residential construction mode, the new FTTB access mode, high-grade residential villa with FTTH access mode, and for commercial buildings the access mode of FTTO. Finally, through the EPON project detailed project implementation and system of EPON project measurement process, through participation in the project planning, design, and implementation of the final system test, verify the implementation of EPON, and the different mode of the construction of the network operation in different application scenarios. are discussed, solid the foundation of the next stage of Qidong Telecom’s EPON network deployment and the scale of construction.
