Research Of Broadband Access Network Application Of Hubei Telecombased On GPON

Nowadays, the country promotes the "triple play" vigorously. Under the situation, Hubei Telecom implements the OAN to replace the Copper access network, in order to transform the traditional access network ("copper+DSL") into the next-generation access network ("the fiber+PON "). GPON is the broadband access solution for Hubei Telecom to implement the triple play.Firstly, the GPON technology and its characteristics,the system structure of GPON are briefly introduced in this thesis, then the GPON protocols, framing technology and its key technologies are describled detailedly in thesis.In addition,the thesis focus on MAC(Media Access Control), ranging, DBA(Dynamically Bandwidth Assignment) and other key technologies involved in GPON.Then, the thesis analyzes the status quo of Hubei Telecom’s broadband access network in detail, and points out that the current copper access network is difficult to support the demand of high-bandwidth service, so it’s need to consider the overall deployment of optical access networks to accommodate the scale development of FTTH, including the setting of OLT nodes, restructuring optical access network. The key of optical access network transformation is planning the optical access network in advance and implementating in demand. The thesis gives the goal of optical access network transformation, puts forword the principle of" constructing partition, layered and in advance" in the organization and construction mode of optical access network,brings in the concept of light service area, main optical node, distribution optical node and gives out the settings principles about coverage and capacity of the optical node. For example, such as KaiMingLu central office in Wuhan Telecom is an example of planning the optical access network, according to planning process that includes analysising network status, forecasting demands of services, configurating the setting of optical nodes, fiber routing and resource allocation.GPON system is also composed by the OLT, ONU and ODN. Considering that the ODN investment accounts for up to60%of the FTTH network, so to get appropriate ODN building model is the key to control the cost of network. Then it’s need to study ODN model of variety of typical urban and rural architectural forms, in order to obtain the best way of building a network. Finally, by the research of pratical application of GPON in Xingxing premise network and Xin Yi premise network, the applicability of the GPON technology was verified.
