Along with rapidly development of plastic mould industry, more and more attention has been paid to the application of general parts. As the mould industry in China started late, the production, the sales, the promotion and the application of general parts still falls behind foreign countries. The difference of design criteria at home and abroad makes that the Pro/E software can’t meet the needs of domestic designers. They usually draw general parts by hand, which is very time-consuming. In order to meet the need of popularization and promotion of general parts in the mould general parts enterprises, solve the problem of drawing general parts by hand repeatedly when mould designers design by Pro/E software. Therefore, the paper develop a set of plastic mould general part library system based on Pro/E.This paper is under the windows7operating system, taking Pro/E Wildfire5.0as support software, using Microsoft Visual Studio2008as development software, developing plastic mould general part library system for the injection mould design.Through the requirement analysis of the system, the overall structure of the system design is determined. Creating the application by Pro/Toolkit secondary development tools, developing the user interface by MFC technology, establishing general part model library by function of parameters and relation in Pro/E. In addition, accessing related information about model parameter in Microsoft Office Access2007by MFC ODBC. Creating the new part by Pro/Toolkit control program, and realizing automatic assembly.Plastic mould general part library developed by this subject, gathers parts selection generation, parts assembly location and BOM auto-output in integral whole, and its operation is handy. It has solved the problem of drawding general parts repeatedly and writing the Code by hand. It brings great convenience for design needs of domestic mold designer, reduces a lot of repetitive work, shortens the development cycle of mould, improves the efficiency of design, and promotes the general parts.
