A Narrative Study Of China Sports Daily’s Report On Tokyo Olympic Games

July 23,2021——August 8,2021,the 32 nd Summer Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo,Japan.The Olympic Games has attracted people’s attention and participation and become the focus of the world with its unique charm of competitive sports and the Olympic spirit of pursuing limit and conquering self.The influence of the Olympic Games on the whole people cannot be separated from the media reports.The media conveyed the information of the Olympic Games to the audience through news narration,showed the overall picture of the Olympic Games,and also spread the significance of the Olympic Games.Among the many Chinese media covering the Tokyo Olympics,China Sports Daily is the most comprehensive and representative.Based on the theory of news narratology,this paper uses case analysis method,text analysis method and content analysis method to regard the media report of Tokyo Olympic Games as the narrative of "large sports event",and considers the report of China Sports Daily as a complete and systematic narrative process.This paper mainly focuses on its theme narrative,narrative elements,narrative structure and narrative ideology,in order to provide reference for other media to report "large-scale sports events".In the theme narration of "China Sports Daily" Tokyo Olympic Games report,it is mainly manifested as the inspirational theme beyond self and the sportsmanship theme of the new era.The Olympic spirit of participation and transcendence runs through the report of Tokyo Olympic Games.In terms of narrative elements,after analyzing the narrators,narrative perspectives and narrative time,it is found that the narrators show diversity and are flexibly inserted into the reports,providing readers with rich facts about the games.The main narrative Angle is compound Angle and internal focus Angle,which presents an objective and comprehensive Tokyo Olympic Games.In terms of the narrative time of the text,the narrative time sequence shows the combination of prenarration and flashback,and the combination of fast and slow narration time.In the narrative structure of "China Sports Daily",there are juxtaposition and combination within the article structure,and the style structure is mainly hypertext structure and mutual infiltration of style.On this basis,the paper studies the ideological construction behind the news facts of Tokyo Olympic Games.The content of news narration is not produced naturally,but selected under the domination and rule of ideology.Finally,it summarizes the narrative advantages of China Sports Daily in the report of the Olympic Games,and provides reference for other media in the report of large-scale sports events in the future.At the same time,it also puts forward suggestions for improvement of its narrative shortcomings.
