Media plays an important role in the process of social change and historical revolution. Nowadays with the information growing up continuously, media has been an important part in our life. It will be changing and transforming continuously with time’s revolution and development. When serving the social public, it takes on the trend of multi-polarized development. No matter in the industries of E-government affairs, E-Commerce, Online bank, Online shopping or studying, entertainment, navigation, etc, contemporary media has already been going deep into different social aspectsWith the unprecedented advances for science and technology in the world today, more and more capitals is flowing towards network. In order to survive, traditional medias, such as newspaper, magazine, broadcast, etc, have to place plenty of advertisements, which make them in an awkward position. The emergency of new media changed people’s traditional way of living from transmitting through words or pictures to broadcasting through video and audio. No matter in the aspects of new reading era, new seeing and hearing era or the way of interaction, the volume of received information, media has changed every aspect of our life.This article is mainly composed of4parts. Part1is the general introduction about contemporary media. First of all, it simply introduces the definition and functions of contemporary media from different aspects and raises the question of how to tactfully apply wisdom and technique to it; secondly it is about the reading and illustration of dynamic media as well as expounding related characters; thirdly, it does the same to static media, points out the problems static media has and trouble it meets and puts forward the viewpoit that the only solution is to make changes; At last it’s about the illustration of new media.Part2is about the family of culture which is to discuss how to continuously apply contemporary media to traditionally culture by introducing and analyzing some concept of traditional eastern and western culture. Firstly, it briefs us the definition of culture; furthermore, it introduces the principle of "abstruse theory is put forward by sub-consciousness", audacious imagination and magically change in Chinese traditional painting as well as subtle metaphor in western culture; at last, it come up with the viewpoint of absorbing openly and.keeping our own characteristics.Part3describes the features of applying contemporary media to traditional culture. Above all, it introduces the current social situation and the problem of lacking traditional culture; secondly, it is about the definition, characteristics and weakness of We Media which is contemporary media’s new cosset; thirdly it is about the definition, characteristics, development process and some shortcomings for social media.at last by listing the problems mentioned before, it raises the viewpoint of how to see the spread and development of traditional culture in the environment of contemporary media and suggesting to make media technology to be the bridge for traditional culture to have greater influence all over the world.
