Reading is both a habit and refinement of people. With the arrival of microdissemination, reading, a kind of activity that carries forward human civilization, isconfronted with unprecedented opportunities and challenges. Against the newbackdrop, new thinking, strategy and development model should be adopted whenpromoting mass reading and it must be implemented in an effective and sustainableway as a major cultural project that enhances our cultural soft power andcomprehensive national strengths.Under the context of micro dissemination, this essay deeply explores thedevelopment trends and strategy of mass reading promotion based on both theanalysis into the micro dissemination’s definition, its features and the relevantfragmented information and into the development and status qua of the mass readingin new media.Given the research above, this essay holds that in the coming years when wepromote the mass reading, not only an effective mechanism should be established toensure ensure its smooth operation, but also importance should be attached to theimpacts of digital reading. We should embrace the trend of digital reading, boostcooperation between traditional press industry and new media, develop a goodreading habit among youth, promote mass reading and finally combine the promotionof mass reading with the strategy to enhance cultures levels so that we can improvethe comprehensive quality of our nation by improving the comprehensive quality ofevery individual.
