As an important part of the laser communication experiment, data source of theterminal is the indispensable equipment for the experiment. As one of the inputsignal sources of the terminal, its main action is to complete the lasercommunication experiment. Hence, it is important to properly design the datasource. The main work of this dissertation is to design a high speed data source whichmeets the requirement of satellite-to-ground laser communication. The contents ofthis dissertation are as follows:In chapter1, the research status and the significance of laser communication areintroduced. The function and input of the data source are designed and analyzed inchapter2. Firstly, the component and function of data source are analyzed. Toachieve the optimum communication quality, data source are coded by RS(255,223) for each frame, with output data of CADU format. And the output data formatis VCDU for high speed multi-interfaces. In addition, design and analysis are alsoperformed for data source structure, power supply interface, remote sensinginterface, remote control interface, optical terminal communication interface, highspeed LVDS interface for multi-interface, and high speed IEEE-1394formulti-interface. Works in this chapter are the basis for data source function. In chapter3, optimum design is presented for the circuit of data source. To ensurethe data source operating safely, the method of modularization design is utilized. The design of the data source is divided into several modules, which are1553Bbus interface module, CPU control module, IEEE-1394interface module, ASOprocessing module, and power supply control module. In chapter4, the structure and thermal character are designed for data source. Inthe design of terminal data source, it is important to meet the requirements ofelectric property, EMC&thermal property, and mechanical property under variousconditions. Besides, the concept of simple structure, small volume, light weight, high technics and repairing convenience should also be considered. According tothe rule of long life and high reliability, precise machining and electric weldingtechnics are necessary for maintenace before launch. The guide lines of continuity, universal adaptability and assembly design are obeyed to make the equipmentsimple and reliable. The structure and thermal design strictly meet the requirements of fabrication criterions. In chapter5, the design of space reliability and security are carried out for datasource. The reliability design includes the design of performance, optimumreliability and security design, and the tradeoff design. The security designconsiders the requirements of thermal, electromagnetic compatible (EMC),radiation, static and mechanics, to realize identifying, tracking, evaluating, eliminating and controlling dangers. The design schemes of minimal danger, danger proof and danger warning, as well as other technique are applied to insurethe safety of the system. In chapter6, the designs of EMC and space radiation proof are conducted for datasource. EMC design is necessary to ensure the reliability and stability ofequipments. It requires that radiation of the equipment does not interfere others. Each equipment has the ability to resist the interference and can work properlyunder certain electromagnetic environment.According to reasonable and detailed design with consideration of practical spacecondition and engineering requirements, the researches in this dissertation are ableto ensure the in-orbit reliability. This work provides a guarantee for thesatellite-to-ground laser communication experiment. The data source of theterminal has been used to the satellite-to-ground laser communication experimentsuccessfully.
