Design And Implementation Of Network Fault Management System Based On Sdn Technology

With the development of information technology, modern network management puts forward higher request for the utilization of network elements, localization of network fault and troubleshooting to make sure that the network can be normally operated and optimized and the internet security and quality of service can be ensured. As an emerging network technology, SDN(Software Defined Networking) has brought new opportunities and challenges for the network technology. SDN separates the data transmission and control. And software-driven central control node can control the entire network automatically. The current problem of network management based on SDN technology is that the lack of standard network management protocol on SDN switch. How to manage the network integrated with SDN has became a hotspot of research and application in the field of network management.This paper analysed the problems of network fault management based on SDN technology, suggested that traditional SNMP network management protocol integrated with SDN RPC interface technology can be adopted to manage the network fault fused SDN platform. Analyzed the demand, this paper divided the system into log management, topological management, fault management, SDN management and data management. Topological management module completes the discovery of network device by topology discovery algorithm. Fault Management module approaches fault management of the traditional network devices via SNMP. It manages the fault in flow of SDN switched devices by using a combination of SDN RPC and OVSDB. SDN management module manages the failure information in flow of SDN switch devices through open sourced Open Flow plug-ins. Data management complements the management of topological data and fault data. The author completed the development of fault management module, SDN management module, and data management module.This paper explores the current research and application of SDN technology and its application in network management systems. The author achieves network fault management prototype system in the laboratory SDN platform and this can be a promising try for the SDN network management interface and the foundation of further practical application. After test in the laboratory, it has been running successfully.
