Implementation Of SNMP Based On Object Oriented

As networks have grown in complexity as well as in size, there is an increasing need for reliable and economical services to transport information. Network management is playing an important role in the development of networks.The CMIS/CMIP and SNMP, which are distinctly developed by ISO and IAB, are the most generally adopted network management protocols. Firstly this paper introduces the concept and models of network management according to CMIS/CMIP and SNMP and presents the architectures and structures of Internet. Then the current network management techniques and the typical products are also introduced.The main subject of this paper is the implementation of SNMP management process and one of the management functions-Fault Management. The ASN.l notation related with SNMP, Structure of Management Information, Management Information Base, Simple Network Management Protocol and the operation between SNMP agent and network management station are introduced in detail. And this paper also describes the details of implementation.This paper presents the software and hardware environment in implementing SNMP, dealing with the MIB, implementing the SNMP management process and the structure of software modules in Fault Management. In it, the key techniques and some of the details of implementation are discussed. Last, this paper sums up the main work that the author has been done and puts forward the direction of further research work.
