In recent years, with the rapid development and the unceasingly mature of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, power grid enterprises material warehouse management ushered in new opportunities and challenges. For urgent needs of the power grid enterprises to build smart grid, material warehouse management needs to reach a new level in order to ensure the efficiency of power grid enterprises. Therefore, how to use the IoT advanced technology to the study of the power grid enterprise material warehouse management has become one of the most important researches.This paper is based on the development and evolution of the Internet of Things, summarizes and analyzes the key technology in the Internet of Things, including radio frequency identification technology, sensor technology, real-time positioning technology and data mining and fusion technology. It discusses the present situation, development trend of the Internet of Things both at home and abroad and the development bottleneck. It also summarizes the power grid enterprise material warehouse management present situation, problems and development trends and management objectives. For power grid enterprise material warehouse management based on Internet of Things has carried on the demand analysis, the necessity and feasibility analysis, planned and designed the system function modules, including receiving management, storage management, database management, inventory management, cargo management and user management. Still, based on the Internet of Things, the power grid enterprise material warehouse management system architecture and position dynamic allocation optimization model have been put forward. The Pareto genetic algorithm is used to solve position dynamic allocation optimization problem, and the optimization of each link optimization measures as well as improvement plan have been proposed.
