Synchronization is a challenging and important task in digital communicationreceiver performance of demodulation system is directly dependent on thesynchronization performance. As an important branch of synchronization technology,carrier synchronization is the foundation of coherent demodulation. The paper focuseson MPSK/MSK signal carrier synchronization algorithms of IF digital receiver.Firstly, the theory basis in the IF digital receiver is introduced in this paper,including multirate signal processing and digital up(down) conversion. Secondly,according to the classification of the open loop and closed loop method,the papersummarized the existing MPSK and MSK signal carrier synchronization technologyrespectively and several carrier recovering schemes are proposed and simulated ontheir performance through Matlab/simulink software.This paper aims to researching appropriate synchronization scheme for the IFdigital receiver, and propose carrier synchronization algorithm. The main job andcontribution of this paper contains such aspects as follows:1. Digital up (down)conversion is designed and simulated through Matlab software, and is implemented inhardware using quartus11.0software ip core.2. For MPSK carrier synchronization,previous algorithms are studied and summarized, and a rotation transformation carriersynchronization scheme with Gardner timing synchronization assisted.3. For MSKcarrier synchronization, some existing algorithms are researched. By comparing severalalgorithms through Matlab software simulation, we have chosen the optimal algorithmmeeting the needs of project.
