With the development of science, technology and continuous improvement of livingconditions, increasing attention is paid to the safety, comfort and convenience of the livingenvironment. Therefore, smart home becomes a consumer product. In this thesis, afteraccessing and summarizing the relevant literature and combining with Hangzhou HongyanElectric Co., Ltd’s research project, we carry out a research that is to integrate several existingcommunications, such as Ethernet, GPRS, GSM and RS485, into a embedded transmissionsystem for the application of the smart home system. The concrete steps are as follows:First of all, in order to solve the problem of a variety of communication methods needdifferent developing communication protocols in smart home system, we refer to the ChinaMobile3G repeater monitoring system agreement, some home network protocols, andcombining application background of smart home, a smart home protocol stack based oncomposite means of Communication is proposed. The protocol applies hierarchical design andit’s suitable for different means of communication control.Secondly, according to the proposed protocol standards for the different operating systemsand hardware platforms, we design a small-size, cross-platform, portable protocol stackpackage based on hierarchical and modular structures. The stack can effectively shield thedifferences of underlying hardware and communication platform, so it can easy to realize themonitoring equipment by using the stack API function. The advantage of using a protocol stackis reduces not only the development cycle, but also maintenance cost at the same time. Finally, in order to measure the function and performance of the protocol stack, we portthe protocol stack to residential gateway based on embedded Linux and built a smart homesystem in our laboratory. Detailed description and implementation of the practice tests arepresented, the experimental results show that the design is stable and reliable. It is noted that the proposed ideas and research achievement are not restricted to home automation, it can be applied directly to remote control.
