Mechanical presses are forging equipment for forming blank that changing the motorrotation movement into the slider straight line reciprocating movement, and its share ismore than80%.The press body is one of the most basic components of press, and belongs tothe single and small batch production. Different customers have different requirement foreach press, so every press must be redesigned; For a long time, a great deal of time andmanpower has been spent during product design. However, the design system after thesecond development can improve the design efficiency of press body greatly, and reduce thehuman error in the process of designing, it’s an important way to realize designingaccurately and efficiently.The mechanical press body producted by Guangduan Metal Machine Works Co. Ltd isthe main research object of this paper, the development method of mechanical press bodyCAD system was obtained by using Visual C++and secondary development tools of UG.The3D model with designing experience of enterprise could be generated automaticallyusing knowledge fusion technology; The angular rigidity, tensile stress and compressivestress were checked and the press body was optimized; Engineering drawing was generationaccording to the generated3D model;Finally set a press body as an example, proved thatthe designed system is practical.In this paper, the main research content and conclusions areas follows:(1) Analyzed the technical parameters of the mechanical press, press body structure andthe rules for determining various sizes,based on the above analysis and combining with thedesign process in the practical production, software structure and function structure of thesystem were programmed.(2) Raised the key technology of parametric design module based on the research of thedesign requirements,the characteristics of UG software assembly mechanism and assemblyenvironment,the specific process of system are as follows: first established3D parametric template using the expression technology、component suppression and knowledge fusiontechnology;Then using UG secondary development tool UG/Open MenuScript made asystem menu, using UG/Open UIStyler made user interface dialog, at last created aapplication software engineering by Visual C++and by using UG Open API function,achieved the function of the system.(3)This paper researched calculation method of strength and stiffness;This system usedthe formula conformity with the actual production.With the cross section II-II relateddimensions as optimization variables, the section area as objective function, and strength,stiffness and actual size limit as constraint conditions, Realized the optimization of the pressbody by using random combination algorithm.(4)In this paper, the engineering drawing generating was researched,includingimporting standard drawing frame, generating view,computing and setting the proportionof view.The enterprise standard drawing frame could be imported automatically, at thesame time this system could generate the view of the associated directly with3D modelautomatically, and set the proportion of view.(5)Finally, illustrated the reliability and practicality of the system with a instance.Thissystem can meet the company’s designing needs.
