Parametric Design Of Mechanical Presses

Mechanical press is the chief equipment for the production of punching armor plate.As the accelerated development of heavy industry, the development of punching armor plate industry has been driven greatly.As a result, it is necessary to advance the design and production efficiency of mechanical press.The design of mechanical press is maturity and series, so it is very significative to advance the design level and efficiency on the chance of improving the company's competition.the mechanical press is designed parametrically in this paper: it uses the directive thinking of combining the dimension drive and the program drive to design the parts. In the parts design,the standard parts'types are confirmed through engineering restriction,and for non-standard parts,first the techno-parameters and the dimension- parameters are picked up, then idiographic dimensions are confirmed through both the engineering restriction and geometry restriction,and last the models are established;and it uses the directive thinking which takes "bottom-up" mainly and "top-down" secondarily to design the components.In the components design, "bottom-up" is carried out through the associated parameters which are transferred and "top-down" is carried out through the the drive of the additive equations.The parametric system of the paper takes the method based on both OLE and COM in the further development of SolidWorks. In the system, the parametric program is compiled and the parametric design of the mechanical press is realized.The system takes use of the language named SQL, the technology named ADO to manage the database Access 2003 and establishes the interface connecting the operator and the computer based on Visual Basic6.0 which is visual language to simplify the operation.This software satisfies the demands of the users and is convenient for the users to design the press, so it has the strong engineering value.
