Automotive level represents the overall level of a country’s economic development,and digital design of automotive components is an important part of the automotiveindustry technology. For now present, the actual design work on a common CADsoftware platform are cumbersome, inefficient and poor quality for the domestic autoparts designers. In addition, it is not enough for the study of secondary developmentabout CATIA. Therefore, it is particularly urgent that converting the manual interactiveoperation into highly efficient, high-quality implementation of software. So, theresearch and application of auto parts digital design software have important practicalsignificance.The current situation shows the artificial design work’s lack of cumbersome,inefficient within car mirrors and wiper designing in the corporates. Meanwhile, thecorporates urgently need a software on common CAD platform for digital design. Incase of determining the actual demand, then some theories on the secondarydevelopment of CAD software has been studied. First, research from the developmentprocess, methods and evaluation criteria.The results of analysis show that the second development technology subject to theAPI of the CAD platform provided. The main methods for the development areembedded and external style. The embedded development with seamless connectivity,further development and other characteristics, is relatively advanced developmentmethods. Evaluation criteria mainly are easy using, fast computing, stable, compatible,transplant and stretching. In order to implement the development of professional designsoftware, must choose the CAD development platform. After analyzing the situation ofCAD software in the domestic auto companies, finally select the CATIA V5software asthe development platform. CATIA V5software architecture is based on softwarecomponents, currently there are two modes of development which are based automationobjects programmatically (CATIA V5Automation) and component-based applicationarchitecture programmatically (CATIA CAA). And CATIA CAA has significantadvantages in the development of complex software, so use it as the auto parts digitaldesign professional software development methods.First, set forth the basis for the design check which are initial design documents and regulatory requirements in the process of achieving automotive mirrors and wiperdigital design professional software module. Then analyze the manual processes,summarize and improve manual processes for software, eventually formed a operationprocess of professional software. Finally, describe the code implementation with CAAfrom framework, interface, command aspect.According to the actual needs of the automotive parts design andmanufacturing-related businesses, develop the digital design professional softwarewhich includes automotive mirrors and wiper design module. Make a thorough studyabout combining technology of secondary development based on CATIA CAA withengineering. Finally, the software applications achieve the desired results in theenterprise.
