As one of the basic educational and humanities curriculums, history plays a very important role in the process of students’ growth: first, one would become patriotic. Second, one would become sensible. Third, one would become wise. But in the actual and daily teaching process, history has not gotten the attention it deserves. Quite a number of students are lack of sufficient interest in history study. This brings history teaching bigger difficulties, and seriously affects the improvement of teaching quality and the realization of history value.Russian writer Leo Tolstoy also pointed out: " the success of teaching does not need mandatory, but to stimulate students’ interest in learning." The students’ interest in learning is always the first, no matter how good the teaching idea, it is difficult to put it into effect in cold aversion and eyes of students. Interest is a powerful driving force and potential power beyond imagination, it can encourage students to focus on their favourite and dedicated subjects, and think, explore as well as practice them actively. In the process students also can gain some enjoyment and satisfaction.Therefore, this article from the present situation of history teaching and the status of students’ learning history, analyzes the importance of learning interest in the history study, and explores the strategies to improve students’ interest in history learning from five parts. The first part summarizes the origin and present situation of the research, and all the study in this passage is just based on it. The second part talks about the connotation of interest from three aspects, pointing out the importance of interest in history learning. The third part is the content of the characteristics and functions of history, to prepare for exploring the methods of improving students’ interest in learning later. The fourth part is the core content of the paper, specific methods to stimulate students’ learning enthusiasm and interest are discussed mainly from three aspects. In this part, the author will combine the specific cases in her own history teaching detailedly. The last section concludes the whole passage, which deepens and promotes the content.The data of this article is the first-hand information that comes from teaching practice of the author in high school history. Thus the research materials and the research object have authenticity to provide better service for reality.But because this topic is broad and the author’s ability is limited, in addition the understanding and analysis of some problems are not deep enough.So it remains to be further study.Confucius said: "who is known not as good, better than the joy of." Therefore, it is important to stimulate students’ interest in learning history. History teachers should use kinds of methods to make students participate in the learning process enthusiastically and positively. In the end students can get the development of personality, knowledge and intelligence in the learning process actually.
