| The time in senior high school is a critical growth period for youth. The great pressure of college entrance examination arouses more and more psychological problems. It is a practical problem to be solved for high school students to learn how to control themselves. A variety of literatures that can be found in the current study of high school students on self-control are more concentrated on the area of research about relationships. A few related researches mostly adopted methods of consolation and theme activities, rather than the easiest and most convenient way of curriculum intervention.The studies on self-control ability of high school students, especially intervention studies, can help students learn to manage themselves well, and it also can provide some supplementary materials for the self-control research.On the basis of literature review and Self-control Questionnaire to Students, the author researched 236 high school students of Experimental Middle School in Liaoning Province to get the data of present situation about self-control abilities of high school students. The results show that in senior one there are great differences in self- control level between different genders and there are also great differences in self-control behavior between the boarders and day-boarders.According to Bandura’s social learning theory and the mental health education courses on characteristics of physical and mental development of high school students, the experimental group was intervened. Finally, statistical results showed that after the implementation of the intervention, there are significant differences on the level of students’ self-control between the experimental group and the control group, which can prove that mental health education course for high school students helps a lot to students’ self-control. |
