Procrastination is becoming more and more common among young people today.In high school,students are supposed to keep accumulating and moving forward.However,the existence of delay problem has begun a larger impact on their life and study.Currently,group after group of researchers confirmed that has a good future orientation of the individual in the face of academic problems,it will be exhibited less procrastination,too,self-control and strong capability in solving individual academic procrastination problem has been the same results.Based on such background,this article starts with exploring the relationship between future orientation,self-control and academic procrastination,and formulates corresponding psychological group counseling programs based on the research results to alleviate the procrastination of high school students in their studies,eventually to improve high school students academic achievement,promote their physical and mental health development.This study had two parts.Study one used 607 high school students as subjects,used the Chinese Youth Future Orientation Questionnaire,the Middle School Student Self-Control Ability Questionnaire,and the Aitken Procrastination Questionnaire(Secondary Student Version),In high school population,the relationship between these three variables observed.According to the results of the first study,a psychological group activity consisting of future orientation and self orientation was designed,30 high school students with high academic procrastination were used as the research objects,the study investigated the effect of this psychological intervention group program.The research results were as follows:1.The overall score of future orientation of senior high school students was above the average level,and there were significant differences in origin,subject category and only child.The overall state of high school students’ self-control was good and at a benign level.There were significant differences between urban and rural students.The overall situation of high school students’ academic procrastination was good and at a benign level,and there were significant differences in gender,student origin and subject category.2.There was a significant negative correlation between future orientation and academic procrastination in senior high school students.There was a significant positive correlation between future orientation and self-control.There was also a significant negative correlation between self-control and academic procrastination in high school students.3.Future orientation of senior high school students had a negative predictive effect on academic procrastination;the future orientation of senior high school students had a positive predictive effect on self-control.High school students’ self-control had a negative predictive effect on academic procrastination.4.The relationship between future orientation and academic procrastination was partially mediated by self-control of senior high school students.That is,the future orientation of high school students not only directly affects academic procrastination,but also affects academic procrastination through self-control.5.Intervention of self-control level through psychological group activities can improved academic procrastination behavior of senior high school students.
