ObjectiveThe study is to explore the effect for nausea and vomiting of acupuncture to patients with lung cancer after the first time chemotherapy, and compare with conventional western medicine treatment, in order to make clear whether it has obvious curative effect and to find one kind of treatment which is more effective and fewer side effects. So we can reduce the nausea and vomiting and the fear on chemotherapy of the patients in a greater degree, improve the curative effect of chemotherapy and improve the prognosis of patients with lung cancer, improve the quality of the survival of patients with lung cancer, prolong the survival of patients with lung cancer.MethodFrom May 2015 to February 2016,60 patients with lung cancer who were up to inclusion criteria were selected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM. Patients were randomly assigned into test group (acupuncture combined conventional western medicine treatment group) and control group (only conventional western medicine treatment group), according to the proportion of 1:1,30 cases in each group. The two groups were based on the basic treatment that they were attached to an intravenous drip with hydrochloric acid tropane SiQiong injection 5 mg mixed into 100ml 0.9% saline respectively 30 minutes before and 4 hours after chemotherapy in a course of treatment of 3 days. The test group was on the basic treatment combined acupuncture therapy which was carried out 4 hours after chemotherapy daily, acupuncture points:Zusanli point, Tianshu point, Zhongwan point, Neiguan point, working at the method of Daoqi, retaining the acupunctureneedles for 30 minutes every time. The control group was only on the basic treatment. Two groups were respectively given a mark on "Index of nausea and vomiting rating scale" and "Karnofsky function condition rating scale" one time at the time of 4 hours after chemotherapy, before acupuncture therapy in the first day and 8 hours after chemotherapy in the third day, and using SPSS19.0 software for statistical analysis.ResultsThere were no statistically significant discrepancy in the general information of the patients, such as the gender, age, course of disease (P>0.05), revealing the comparability of the two groups. Besides, no statistically significant differences still showed in the pre-treatment evaluation parameters of the patients, including the Index of nausea and vomiting rating scale, as well as the Karnofsky function condition rating scale (P>0.05), which displayed the two groups were comparable. After treatment, it showed that the Index of nausea and vomiting rating scale and the Karnofsky function condition rating scale compared to the pre-treatment results (P<0.05), were obviously improved in both groups, revealing the significant differences. The comparison of the overall effectiveness:the total effective rate was 96.55% in test group and 83.33% in control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Both the control to the nausea and vomiting and the improvement of function condition, significant differences were confirmed between the two groups. The test group was superior to the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions1. Both acupuncture combined conventional western medicine treatment and only conventional western medicine are effective to patients with lung cancer against the nausea and vomiting after the first time chemotherapy.2. Both the control to the nausea and vomiting and the improvement of function condition, significant differences were confirmed between the groups, and test group was superior to control group (P<0.05).
