Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of acupuncture combined with ondansetron in the treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Methods:This study used a single-center,randomized,controlled research method for clinical research. The study referred to the 2017 edition of the "NCCN Antiemetic Clinical Practice Guidelines" diagnostic criteria and selected 50 patients who were admitted to the acupuncture minimally invasive oncology ward of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2018 to January 2020 and met the study inclusion criteria. Before enrollment, the test patients signed an informed consent form. The investigator conducted a baseline evaluation of the test patients and assigned the test patients to the acupuncture treatment test group(25 cases)according to the random method of the random number table at a 1:1 ratio.)And the sham acupuncture control group(25 cases);both the acupuncture test group and the sham acupuncture control group used ondansetron as the antiemetic regimen during chemotherapy, and the test group used acupuncture treatment on the basic treatment regimen.Acupuncture points selection:bilateral Gongsun point(SP-4),bilateral Taibai point(SP-3),bilateral Zusanli point(ST-36),bilateral Neiguan point(PC-6),bilateral God Gate Point(HT-7).Acupuncture requires getting qi and applying diarrhea. The treatment period is 5 days. The sham acupuncture control group used disposable German non-transdermal comfort acupuncture needles on the basic treatment plan,at the bilateral Gongsun(SP-4),bilateral Taibai(SP-3),bilateral Zusanli(ST-36),bilateral Neiguan point(PC-6),bilateral Shenmen point(HT-7)were treated with concomitant acupuncture, acupuncture does not require gas,and no manipulation is applied. The treatment period is 5 days. The operator's requirements are consistent with the acupuncture test group. The main efficacy evaluation index of this study is the nausea and vomiting part(NCI-CTCAE5.0)of the National Cancer Institute's evaluation criteria of drug toxicity and side effects. The secondary efficacy evaluation index is KPS score and weight change;the safety evaluation index is divided into general safety Evaluation and safety evaluation of acupuncture;general safety evaluation indexes are blood routine, urine routine, stool routine, liver function, kidney function, electrocardiogram;safety indexes of acupuncture are whether there are halo needles or pain during treatment.During the treatment period, the incidence and remission rate of nausea and vomiting in the acupuncture test group and the sham acupuncture control group were observed and the KPS score was evaluated. Results:The complete remission rate of acupuncture combined with ondansetron for chemotherapy-induced nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite was significantly different from that of the sham acupuncture control group, and the difference was statistically significant. In terms of nausea control, the complete remission rate of the acupuncture test group was significantly higher than that of the sham acupuncture control group(68.8%and 26.4%,P<0.01);the remission rate of the acupuncture test group was high in the relief of anorexia In the sham acupuncture control group(69.6%and 46.4%,P<0.05);in the treatment of vomiting, the complete remission rate of the acupuncture test group was higher than the sham acupuncture control group(70.4%and 46.4%,P<0.05);In terms of physical assessment and quality of life of the tested patients, the KPS score of the acupuncture test group decreased slightly after treatment, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),while the sham acupuncture control group decreased significantly, the difference was statistically significant Academic significance(P<0.05);In terms of safety, neither chemotherapy-related or acupuncture-related adverse reactions occurred, and the safety was good. Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with ondansetron can significantly improve chemotherapy-induced nausea, loss of appetite, delayed nausea and vomiting, improve the physical condition of the tested patients, improve the quality of life during chemotherapy, and have a better safety.
