Clinical Observation Of Diarrhea-Predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome Due To Spleen Deficiency Damp Heat Syndrome Treated By The Method Of Jianpi Qinghua Combined With Probiotics

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of the method of Jianpi Qinghua combined with probiotics in treating diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) of spleen deficiency damp heat syndrome.Methods:60 cases of IBS-D patients who were in accordance with the inclusive criteria were randomly divided into two groups:the treatment group and the control group. Each group has 30 cases. All patients in the treatment group were treated with the traditional Chinese medicine for Jianpi Qinghua combined with live combined bifidobacterium and lactobacillus tablets. In the control group patients were treated with live combined bifidobacterium and lactobacillus tablets,eight weeks being a couse of treatment. The symptoms of pre-treatment and post-treatment of each group were evaluated based on the severity score(partl) of irritable bowel severity scoring system(IBS-SSS) and traditional Chinese medical symptoms score, then evaluate the effects of the treatments based on the score of IBS-SSS. All of the data were statistical analyzed by SPSS 22.0 statistical software.Results:1.Comparison of the IBS-SSS total score in the treatment group and the control group before and after treatment:both groups could reduce the IBS-SSS total score post-treatment (P<0.01) and The scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.01)2.Comparison of the each entry of IBS-SSS score in the treatment group and the control group before and after treatment:both groups could reduce the each entry of IBS-SSS score post-treatment (P<0.01).The treatment group were significantly better than the control group in terms of abdominal pain degree, abdominal pain frequency, defecation satisfaction, interference of daily life degree (P<0.01),but there were no statistically differences in the term of abdominal distension (P>0.01)3. Comparison of IBS-SSS curative effect of treatment and control groups:The treatment group included with 2 cases recovered and 17 cases significantly improved,9 cases improved,2 cases invalid, the total effective rate was 93.3%. The control group reported 0 cases recovered and 6 cases significantly improved,16 cases improved,8 cases invalid, the total effective rate was 73.3%.All cases were statistically analyzed, revealing a significant difference (P<0.01) between the two groups.4. Comparison of TCM symptom total integral in the treatment group and the control group before and after treatment:both groups could reduce the TCM symptoms score post-treatment (P<0.01),between the two groups, The scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.01)Conclusion:The curative effect of the method of Jianpi Qinghua combined with probiotics was remarkable, this therapeutic method was able to significantly ameliorate the symptoms and improve the quality of life of patients with IBS-D of spleen deficiency damp heat syndrome, and it was safe for long-term use with no obvious adverse reaction, deserving further study and promoting.
