Clinical Observation On Xiegan Jianpi Bushen Decoction In The Treatment Of Diarrhea-predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Jianpi Bushen Decoction in treating diarrheairritable bowel syndrome evaluated comprehensively from the clinical safety, living quality,TCM symptom score improvement and disease relapse etc, to provide the theoretical basis forthe clinical application of" Jianpi Bushen decoction, and the foundation for further researchand development of new drugs.Methods: Patients treated in the studio of famous doctor Liao Zhifeng, digestiondepartment and inpatients department in Gansu Province hospital of traditional Chinesemedicine from2013January to2014January with diarrhea irritable bowel syndrome.66patients that met with inclusion diagnostic criteria of Western medicine and TCM, whichbelongs to the liver depression inhibiting spleen syndrome, or hypofunction of the spleen andstomach, or spleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome were selected. After the signing ofinformed consent,66patients were randomly divided into the treatment group and the controlgroup, with33cases in each group. The general data of the two groups had no statisticalsignificance. The control group was given Trimebutine Maleate Tablets and Gammon talcumpowder for oral treatment, the treatment group was given Jianpi Bushen Decoction prescribedby famous doctor Liao Zhifeng. The two groups were treated for4weeks. After treatment,two groups were compared with the overall efficiency, changes of symptom score, clinicalsafety indexes, etc to evaluate the improvement of the patient’s living quality. SPSS17.0wasused for data analysis and comparison of the therapeutic effect of drugs.Result:(1) In treatment group, the total efficiency was90.9%,21cases were curedaccounting for63.7%,5cases remarkably effective accounted for15.2%,4cases effectiveaccounted for12.1%cases,3cases invalid accounted for9.1%; in the control group, the totalefficiency was66.7%;13cases were cured accounting for39.4%,4cases remarkablyeffective accounting for12.1%,5cases effective accounting for15.2%,11cases invalidaccounting for33.3%; the treatment group was better than the control group (P <0.05).(2)Compared with before treatment, two groups of patients with abdominal pain, abdominaldistension, diarrhea, stool frequency and sleep and anxiety symptoms improved aftertreatment to different degree (P <0.01); in improvement of symptoms, treatment group was better than that in control group in abdominal pain, abdominal distension, diarrhea, stoolfrequency and sleep disorders and the anxiety of the control group (P <0.05).(3) Two groupsof patients were all better than that before treatment. After treatment, the treatment group wasbetter than control group (P <0.05).(4)The living quality of the two groups was improved,but the treatment group was better than control group in anxiety, behavioral disorders, body’srole, social function; there was no significant difference between the two groups in healthconcern, picking food, sexual behavior, interpersonal relationship.(5) In treatment group,there was no obvious adverse reaction.Conclusion: Total efficiency of Xiegan Jianpi Bushen Decoction was higher than that ofthe control group in the treatment of diarrhea irritable bowel; abdominal pain syndrome;abdominal distention, diarrhea, stool frequency and sleep and anxiety symptoms; The livingquality of the treatment group is superior to control group in anxiety, behavioral disorders,body’s role, social function; there is no significant difference between the two groups inhealth concern, picking food, sexual behavior, interpersonal relationship.and the relapse ratein the treatment group are better than in the control group with no adverse reaction, indicatingthat the Xiegan Jianpi Bushen Decoction is efficient, which can be used in clinicalapplication.
