Objective:To compare the treatment effect of cervical headache between cupping therapy and common needle acupuncture in clinical.To provide a scientific,safe,simple and effective method for treatment of cervical headache.Method:In this study, we observed 60 patients with cervical headache. According to the method of simple randomized control. The two groups were divided into the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group were treated with cupping and acupuncture treatment; the control group were treated with common acupuncture. Treatment for 1 times daily,30 minutes each time,for 6 days continuously, rest for 1 days,7 days for 1 course of treatment.The clinical observation of 4 courses. Dazhui cupping once for 3 days,30 minutes each time. Each group of patients were evaluated with the visual analogue scale (VAS),the stiffness of the head and neck and the degree of activity of the cervical spine (ROM). The obtained data were analyzed by SPSS19.0 statistical software.Results:1.Two groups of patients in each scale score after 4 courses of treatment than before treatment score improved significantly (P< 0.05).2.Compared with the control group, treatment of TCM symptom score group were the degree of depression, and activities of daily living capacity improved significantly (P< 0.05).After 4 courses of treatment,the 5 cases are cured in the treatment group.16 cases cured effective markedly,7 cases are treated effectivly,2 cases are invalid.The rate of cure and effective is 70%. The rate of the total effective is 93.3%,In the control group,4 cases cured,6 cases treated effective markedly,12 cases are treated effectively,8 cases are invalid. The rate of healing is 33.3%.The rate of total effective is 73.3%. The obtained data were analyzed by statistical software.The two groups have significant difference (P=0.023<0.05).After 4 courses of treatment, the two group of patients were improved (P<0.05) compared with those before treatment in the visual analogue scale (VAS) and the reduced range of the motion in the neck (ROM).And the treatment group was better than the control group.Conclusion:1.Cupping therapy has exact therapeutic effect on cervical headache, and better than the traditional acupuncture therapy.2.The treatment of the stabbing and cupping with Da-zhui acupuncture point is better than that of the simple acupuncture.
