The Clinical Observation Of The Yingtong Decoction Combined With Xiaozhong Zhitong Ointment On Subacute Thyroidities (Heat Toxic Dampness Type)

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and security of Yingtong decoction combined with application of Xiaozhong zhitong Ointment on subacute thyroiditis(subacute thyroiditis, SAT)(toxic heat dampness type).Methods: Select 60 patients meeting the diagnostic criteria for subacute thyroiditis(toxic heat dampness type) to study in randomized controlled method. 30 cases were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.The control group were treated with prednisone tablets and treatment group Yingtong decoction combined with Xiaozhong zhitong Ointment for seven days. After three courses of continuous treatment evaluated TCM clinical symptom scores, changes in thyroid function, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and other indicators of efficacy before and after treatment. All data were used for statistical analysis with SPSS19.0 statistical software.Results: ①TCM syndrome: after treatment, symptom scores of two groups both decreased significantly(P <0.01), but comparison between the two groups after treatment, the symptom score had no statistically significance(P>0.05). ②Efficacy: The total efficiency after treatment of the treatment group was not significantly different from and the control group(P>0.05). But the total efficiency rate of the treatment group(93.33%),was higher than that of the control group(90.00%), indicating that Yingtong decoction combined with the external application of Xiaozhong zhitong ointment on subacute thyroiditis had better clinical efficacy than prednisone tablets.③ESR:Erythrocyte sedimentation rate of both groups decreased Significantly after treatment compared with before treatment(P <0.01), indicating that both treatments can improve erythrocyte sedimentation rate, but the change of erythrocyte sedimentation rate of the treatment group was obviously better than that of the control group.④Thyroid function: FT3, FT4, TSH of the two groups decreased than before, there was a significant difference(P <0.01),The change of FT3, FT4 between the two groups had no statistical significance(P>0.05), after treatment the improvement of TSH of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group(P <0.05); Iodine⑤ absorption rate: iodine absorption rate of two groups improved after treatment 2 hours, 4 hours, 24 hours,there was statistically sig nificance(P <0.05), but the difference between treatment group and control group aft er treatment had no statistical significance.Conclusion: the Yingtong decoction combined with application of Xiaozhong zhitong ointment can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of patients with subacute thyroiditis and promote erythrocyte sedimentation rate, serum markers of thyroid function and iodine absorption rate return to normal. The treatment efficacy is equivalent with prednisone tablets, but traditional Chinese medicine is safer with fewer side effects.
