Clinical Study Of Jiawei Wendan Decoction On Insomnia With Phlegm Heat Harassing The Heart

Objective:The Chinese medicine theory is used as the instruction and the clinical practice is used as the basis to observe the clinical effect of Jiawei Wendan decoction on insomnia with phlegm heat harassing the heart type.Thus can instruct clinical work better and develop Chinese medicine better.Methods:60 patients with insomnia of phlegm heat harassing the heart type were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,30 cases in each. The treatment group was treated with Jiawei Wendan decoction and the control group was treated with Qingnaofushen liquid.Two groups took 4 weeks as a treatment course.Pittsburg sleep quality index (PSQI) was used as primary endpoint.SPSS 17.0 was used to analyze the data.At the same time through the observation of adverse effect to evaluate the security.Results:There is no significant difference between the two groups in terms of sex,age,disease duration and severity. That means they are comparable.Before treatment,the total value of PSQI is 13.63±3.17(treatment group) and 13.37±3.33(control group) respectively,and the one after treatment is 7.77±3.74(treatment group) and 10.37±4.32(control group) respectively. PSQI score is significantly decreased after treatment in each group and the difference is statistically significant (P<0.05). And there is statistical significance between the two groups (P<0.05).The treatment group is better than the control group.4 cases are cured,9 markedly effective,12 effective and 5 ineffective in the treatment group,and the corresponding figures are 2,5,9 and 14 in the control group,total effective rates in treatment group and control group are 83.3% and 53.3% respectively,showing significant difference between two groups (P<0.05).The treatment group is superior to the control group. The incidences of adverse effect of two groups are 6.67% (treatment group) and 3.33%(control group). There is no statistical significance between the two groups (P>0.05).Jiawei Wendan decoction has no damage to the kidney-liver functions and is clinically safe.Conclusion:The effect of Jiawei Wendan decoction on insomnia with phlegm heat harassing the heart type is better than the one of control group.It is very safe and efficient,therefore it is worth popularizing in clinical practice.The research provide foundation for clinical application of insomnia. We can reevaluate in this area through expanding the sample size.
