Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the treatment of penetration needling in antagonistic muscles acupuncture for post-stroke patients with upper limb muscle spasticity, providing a simple、convenient and effective treatment for treating post-stroke patients with upper limb spastic hemiplegia.Method:This research use the randomized controlled clinical research methods. Selection patients who got treatment in acupuncture department of Guangdong second traditional Chinese medicine hospital during January 2014 to February 2015.60 cases of post-stroke patients with upper limb spastic hemiplegia met selection criterion, randomly assigned to treatment group and control group according to simple randomization method, each group of 30 cases. Both groups received basic drug treatment and rehabilitation training. Based on this, the treatment group received penetration needling in antagonistic muscles acupun-cture, with the affected upper limb acupoint of LI15、LI14、SJ13、SJ10、SJ9、 SJ5、LI5、LI6,while the control group received treatment of conventional acupuncture, with the affected upper limb acupoint of LI15、LI11、LI10、SJ5、 LI4.The lower limbs acupoint were identical. Rehabilitation training and acupuncture were once a day, and rest on Sunday. A course of treatment was 14 days and both groups were treated for a course. In the first and the last day, using the modified Ashworth scale、simplify Fugl-Meyer assessment scale of the upper limb、the modified Barthel index scale to evaluate the upper limb spasm extent、the motor function of the upper limb and the activities of daily living, and the modified Ashworth scale to evaluate the clinical efficacy.Results:1. Comparing with the baseline data of two groups, the sex、age、course、 nature of disease、the modified Ashworth score、the simplify Fugl-Meyer score of the upper limb、modified Barthel index score of two groups before the treatment were not significantly different(P>0.05). It showed there were comparability in the two groups.2. After treatment, compared with before treatment, the modified Ashworth score、the simplify Fugl-Meyer score of the upper limb、modified Barthel index score of the two groups were significantly different (P<0.01, P<0.05). After treatment, the modified Ashworth score between the two groups、the d-score of two groups’ simplify Fugl-Meyer of the upper limb、the d-score of two groups’ modified Barthel index had statistical significance (P<0.01,P<0.05).It showed both the penetration needling in antagonistic muscles acupuncture and conventional acupuncture could relief the upper limbs spasticity extent, improve the upper extremity motor function and raise the activities of daily living, but the penetration needling in antagonistic muscles acupuncture was better than the conventional acupuncture in relieving the upper limbs spastic-ity extent, improving the upper extremity motor function and raising the activities of daily living.3. Comparing the clinical efficacy between the two groups, in the treatment group,4 cases were cured basically,5 cases were remarkably improved,15 cases were effective,6 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 80%;in the control group,0 cases were cured basically,2 cases were remarkably improved,19 cases were effective,9 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 70%.To compare the therapeutic effect of two group, there was significantly different (P<0.05).It showed the therapeutic effect in the penetration needling in antagonistic muscles acupuncture was better than that in the conventional acupuncture. Conclusions:The penetration needling in antagonistic muscles acupuncture and conventional acupuncture could relief the upper limbs spasticity extent, improve the upper extremity motor function and raise the activities of daily living, but the efficacy of the penetration needling in antagonistic muscles acupuncture was superior to the conventional acupuncture.
