On the basis of the literature review and clinical practice, we proposed the following hypotheses:(1)Drug addicts’ parental style, coping style and emotion management self-efficacy were different from the healthy population. (2) Parental style, coping style, begotten conditions, originating, the educational level, the main types of drugs were likely to be the factors of drug addicts’emotion management self-efficacy. (3)Different parental style could develop different coping style. Through the coping style which was as an intermediary role, parental style would affect emotion management self-efficacy, and this model would be different between drug addicts and healthy people.MethodsThis research adopted the questionnaire survey method, as investigation method in order to verify the hypothesis. The research used the Concise Parenting Questionnaire of the self-report scale of Chinese version (s-EMBU-c),Trait Coping Style Questionnaire(TCSQ), the Regulatory Emotional Self Efficacy(RESE) Chinese version, and the questionnaires wrote by myself which included the drug dependent persons general situation questionnaire and drug used situation questionnaire. In accordance with the study group inclusion and exclusion criteria, we randomly chosed 240 male patients who were drug addicts as the study group in voluntary drug rehabilitation center of Guangzhou Baiyun Mental Hospital. We received 214 valid samples of the study. And then, we received 209 effective control sample from 240 healthy people who were selected by the study group inclusion and exclusion criteria. This research showed preliminary exploration of drug addicts of the characteristics of parenting styles, coping style and emotion regulation self-efficacy and the relationship among the three.ResuIts(1) Compared with healthy people, drug addicts whose parenting styles were more inclined to reject (t=3.67,p<0.001) and overprotection(t=6.48,p<0.001), but appeared less emotional warmth parenting style(t=-3. A2,p<0.01). (2)Drug addicts were more inclined to use negative coping style than healthy people(t=5.58,p<0.001). (3)Emotion management self-efficacy of drug addicts was significantly lower than the healthy population (t=-4.04,p<0.001). (4)Correlation analysis showed that, RESE and parental style of emotional warmth factor (t=0.12,p<0.05), positive coping style (r=0.38,p<0.001) were significantly positively, correlated with negative coping style (r=-0.22,p <0.01) were significantly negatively correlated. In terms of positive coping style to the drug addicts, it had no correlation with negative coping style, and three factors of parental style were not correlated with the positive coping style. However, negative coping style were correlated with three factors of parental style. (5)Multiple regression analysis showed that positive coping (Beta=0.40,t=6.52,p<0.001) and negative coping (Beta=-0.25, t=-4.09,p<0.001) could significantly predict RESE. (6) In the group of drug addicts, negative coping was the mediating role between parental warmth and RESE, mediating effect was 25.2%. (7)In the group of health, negative coping was also the mediating role between parental warmth and RESE, mediating effect was 11.1%. (8)The mediating effect of negative coping was different between the drug addicts and health.ConelusionIn summary, drug addicts’parental style, coping style, and the regulatory emotional self efficacy were different from healthy people, parental style was the foundation of their regulatory emotional self efficacy, negative coping behavior made repeated substance dependence behavior or sick, eventually leading to drug addicts were lower confidence level, lower level of the regulatory emotional self efficacy than the health.
