Objective: To provide empirical basis for the hospital's micro management, this paper explored the influence of doctors' emotional intelligence and their coping styles on the doctor-patient relationship, analyzed the patients' evaluation of the doctor-patient relationship in this hospital and influencing factors, and explored the subjective experience of doctors and patients in the process of medical interaction in terms of role comprehension, behavior tendency and psychological appeal.Methods:(1)Literature retrieval method: By reviewing the available information and collecting the previous studies, this study attempted to find out the factors that may affect the doctor-patient relationship from the micro level of management and psychology.(2)Questionnaire: Collected the data and measured the doctor-patient relationship, emotional intelligence and coping styles with the “Difficult Doctor Patient Relationship Questionnaire,10-Item Version,DDPRQ-10”,“Wong's Emotional Intelligence Scale,WEIS”,“Patient Doctor Relationship Questionnaire,15-Item Version,PDRQ-15”,“Coping Styles Questionnaire,CSQ” and social-demographic characteristics of respondents.(3)Focus Interview: Investigated the voluntary participants' subjective experience of the relationship between doctors and patients by semi-structured interviews.(4)Data statistics:The data were analyzed by SPSS22.0 software to obtain the results.Result:(1)There was a significant negative correlation between the doctors' working years and the total score of DDPRQ-10,while the age was same. That is,with the increase of the age or years of practice, the difficulty of the doctor-patient relationship is gradually reduced.(2)The emotional intelligence and coping style of doctors were significantly correlated with the evaluation of doctor-patient relationship. The following results could be used to predict the doctors' awareness of the difficulty of doctor-patient relationship: the number of years of practice, the SEA dimension of emotional intelligence and the solving factor of their coping style, while the avoidance factor of coping style has positive predictive effect. The coping style between emotional intelligence and doctor-patient relationship played a partial mediating role.(3)Doctors participate in the interview reflected a certain sense of professional honor. But their professional self-confidence was relatively insufficient in the current clinic environment, especially in dealing with human relations. The data suggested that the understanding of patients has become a key issue for doctors.(4)The patients' evaluation of the degree of difficulty in the doctor-patientrelationship is relatively low,and their recognition of the overall situation of doctor-patient relationship is higher.(5)The age of the patients was significantly correlated with their evaluation of the doctor-patient relationship. The doctor-patient relationship in the inpatient group was better than that in the emergency department. The patients, who often go to the Tertiary Hospital in the past found the difficulty degree of doctor-patient relationship in the Secondary Hospital was lower, and the patients who often go to the Community Hospital were relatively higher. At the same time, the annual income of patients was predicting their experience about the degree of difficulty in the relationship between doctors and patients. That is,the higher the annual family income, the higher the degree of difficulty in the evaluation of doctor-patient relationship.(6)The doctor's professional role was given priority with positive orientation by patients in the hospital. In the process of medical treatment, patients still focused on medical quality.Meanwhile, they payed more attention to the emotional communication with doctors and their own emotional experience. Conclusion: The physicians have a high emotional career sense. The doctors' emotional intelligence and coping style affect their evaluation of the doctor-patient relationship. The emotional intelligence has a direct impact on the doctor-patient relationship and,at the same time,it has indirect effect to the doctor-patient relationship by acting on coping styles. The accumulation of work experience has a significant effect on the doctor's ability to improve the relationship between doctors and patients.Past experience and family income have an impact on the doctor-patient relationship. The patients take the emotional communication seriously while they concern about the medical quality. In the hospital management,it is necessary to carry out the training of doctors' emotional intelligence and coping styles, and strengthen the guidance of the emotional communication between doctors and patients.
