BackgoundPeriarthritis of shoulder, it occur due to the internal and external factors, which cause the inflammation around the shoulder tendons, ligaments, articular capsule. With this disease, patients feel pain day and night. Especially at night, the pain would get more acutely, accompany with the patients can not fall sleep all night. The patients feel scared of any activities about shoulder, for the reason, if you move the more painful you will get. The shoulder may atrophy if it is not used, in Chinese traditional medicine(CTM). From which,the atrophy of shoulder tendons and ligaments may have a bad effect on the activities of shoulder. Periarthritis of shoulder also is short for Frozen shoulder, for the feelling of palpate shoulder. This disease occur mainly during the period between middle-age and old age, female would be more in the crowd., left side incidence is higher than another, chronic stage in clinical practice woule be more common. From above, the effect on the peoples’work, especially the urban population, bring by periarthritis of shoulder can not be imagined. According to the domestic literature, the incidence of Frozen shoulder in clinical is up to20%,which people have is8.1%in the city. Usually, the course of scapulohumeral periarthritis is fairy long, and is hard to heal. In daily life, the worse would even find trouble, such as wash face, brush teeth and wear clothes, et. It is a big pain for these patients,, So,for this disease, how to make the treatment more effective, decrease the pain and improve the shoulder function, to make the patients can fall asleep and act as usual, to liberate the productive forces, is this clinical research focused.ObjectivesThe primacy purpose of this study was to observe the effect of Cervical correction techniques plus conventional massage on treating Scapulohumeral Periarthritis. According this research to provide the theoretical basis for its use in clinical practice. And offer a new clinical massage therapy which is effective and reliable, Innovative and with TCM characteristics for the treatment of Scapulohumeral Periarthritis.MethodsAccordance with the diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria, exclusion criteria of the test cases, we chose60Scapulohumeral Periarthritis patients as subjects in strict, which including the outpatient in massage department of Guangdong provincial Hospital of TCM, from August,2013to February,2014. We devided the patients to two groups:treatment group, control group in randomized control method. Two groups were given the same functional exercise basic treatment. We adjust the cervical facet joint by Linshi specified-located cervical rotation manipulation, and plus conventional massag in the treatment group. The control group treated patients by conventional massage only. The two groups are two months for a course, three courses in all. Observed the two groups of patients with pain Index and curative effect. Compared the change of the Indexes between each group, and between the two groups before and after treatment. We used statistical software SPSS17.0to statistical analysis of the data. Analysis the clinical efficacy of Cervical correction techniques plus conventional massage on treating Scapulohumeral PeriarthritisResults(1) Clinical Comparison of the two groups:Treatment group of30cases, clinical cure rate is23.3%, markedly effective rate is43.3%, the effectiveness is26.7%, the whole effectiveness is93.3%;Control group of30cases, clinical cure rate isl0%, markedly effective rate is30%, the effectiveness is46.7%, the whole effectiveness is86.7%. Through the statistical analysis of the whole effectiveness,a significant difference between two groups (P=0.036<0.05). The treatment group better than control group.(2) Comparison of the pain index and Michael Reese Medical grade:Compared the indexs before treatment respectively, there were no significant difference for two groups(P>0.05). Pain index:After the treatment, treatment group and control group had statistical significance(P<0.01), it is the same difference in the two groups before and after treatment. The function, activity and total points of all the patients were all rised obviously, there were statistically significant difference for two groups(P=0<0.01).(3) Safety observation:No obvious reactions were observed during the time of the treatment.ConclusionThe effect of Cervical correction techniques plus conventional massage on treating Scapulohumeral Periarthritis is better than the effect of conventional massage only. It have more advantages in curing the pain and improving the function, activity of the shoulder than the control group. This method worth the further promotion of clinical, because it provide a new kind of Clinical evidence and ideas in Scapulohumeral Periarthritis treatment.
