Research On The Present Situation And Countermeasures Of Original Picture Book Creation In Mainland China

In foreign countries,picture books have one hundred years of history, it is the first choice of children’s books in developed countries. In recent years, picture books reading have already become the focus of Chinese preschool education. The author found that in the preschool children’s picture books, more than 90% are imported from abroad. Chinnese original picture books in the book market share are very little. Previous studies of picture books focus on design, publishing, cycle and cost. The author’s point of view is slightly different with them.The author thinks that: if we study the creation of Chinese picture books from the perspective of children development, we can reverse the Chinese picture books rely on the import of foreign picture books.The study want to understand the creation of the original picture books by filed trips and literature retrieval.The study also want to understand the choice of preschool children and their teachers in the Chinese original picture books by questionnaires and interviews. Found: Chinese original picture books have the advantages of fitting the dialogue environment of Chinese and inheriting the traditional culture of China. However, there are many problems such as pay attention to preaching, neglect the children reading experience, directly into Chinese traditional culture and despise the universal values.For this purpose, the author puts forward three suggestions: to establish the standard of children’s thinking; to inherit the Chinese traditional culture; to reflect the universal values.The author look forward to this study can be used for the creation of original picture books in mainland China, to provide reference of choosing picture books for early childhood teachers and parents, to provide support for the children to read picture books.
