A Study On The Publication Of Taiwan Children's Picture Books In Mainland China

Since the publication exchange cooperation between the two sides began in 1988,the development of more than 30 years has formed a close interest connection and emotional bond between the two sides of the publishing industry.At present,children's books are an important area for cross-strait publishing cooperation.Children's picture books,as one of the most popular books in the cross-strait children's book market,have also attracted the attention of publishers and readers across the strait.Children's picture books on both sides of the Taiwan Straits have really started art exchange and market competition since the new century's picture book reading environment in the mainland has matured.Taiwanese children 's picture books not only enrich the category and content of original picture books on the mainland market,but also bring “reading typhoons” from across the strait to readers in the mainland.In addition,as an important part of original picture books,Taiwanese children's picture books also played a role that cannot be ignored in promoting the development of domestic original picture books.This paper takes Taiwanese children's picture books as the research object.Through the collection and analysis of documents and interviews,the author has thoroughly analyzed and analyzed the publishing situation of Taiwanese children's picture books on the mainland,including publishing background,publishers,publishing exchanges and cooperation,Publication of award-winning works,content characteristics and market performance.The author believes that children's picture books in Taiwan not only bring aesthetic inspiration and publishing experience to domestic original picture books,but also have great significance in promoting the "going out" of Chinese picture books.Due to the narrow publishing market in Taiwan,Taiwanese children's picture books are facing new development opportunities in the children's books market with huge potential in the mainland,but they will inevitably encounter new challenges and difficulties.That is,the competition between original picture books and imported picture books is at a disadvantage;Taiwan children's picture books have poor marketing promotion channels in the mainland market;Taiwanese children's picture books have insufficient original capacity.In view of the problems faced by Taiwanese children's picture books in the mainland,I believe that cross-strait cultural identity,innovation in cross-strait publishing cooperation mechanisms,and professional development of picture books should be promoted to enhance the competitiveness of original picture books.In addition,the two sides of the Taiwan Strait should build consensus,expand their thinking,and jointly develop overseas markets.Letting Chinese original picture books "go global" is the destiny for the future development of children's picture books across the Taiwan Straits.
