In most modern laboratory, people need to monitor the environmental temperature and humidity, the two environmental factors directly determines whether the experimental result is correct, and they are also as an important basis for the research personnel to analyze problems. The traditional way of monitoring temperature and humidity is not only cumbersome in wiring, heavy workload, poor scalability, but also it is very susceptible to interfere with other electronic devices, increasing the difficulty in signal processing of the long distance transmission; therefore, it is difficult to meet the needs of modernization. With the development of wireless sensor network, wireless technology has broken through the bottleneck of the traditional sensor technique, and is widely used in various occasion.In this paper, we design a distributed laboratory temperature and humidity monitoring system based on Zigbee. The coordinator sets up and maintains a network of Zigbee, and the wireless temperature and humidity sensor nodes collect temperature and humidity information, then they transmitte the information through a router and a coordinator to the host computer in the Zigbee network. Through the graphical interface Zigbee network PC monitor client software displays the current temperature and humidity in real time information, in order to achieve real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity information for people.Firstly, this paper discusses the present development situation of wireless sensor network, then it provides an overview of the Zigbee network technology, and the characteristics of each Zigbee communication protocol layers are summarized. This paper introduces the general design and analysis of wireless temperature and humiditymonitoring system. Including about the application requirement, design the principles of the system and the problems will be encountered in practical problems, followed by about the hardware design and software design.Hardware design discusses the main module of wireless temperature and humidity monitoring system, including the design Zigbee module design, the node design of the main peripheral circuit, the sensor circuit. Software part introduces the system development process is needed in the design of software and the relay algorithm, the design of coordinator node program, design of acquisition / relay node program, design of host computer.Finally, we set up an experimental platform for the network.The Zigbee wireless temperature and humidity monitoring system network connection is analyzed and discussed. Moreover, through the whole system testing, we have a general understanding for the functional of whole monitoring system; it can ensure the basic requirements on the practical application.
