In modern industrial production, we often need to monitor and control production equipment running status in the remote. From the point of reliability, the centralized monitoring by using cable network for data transmission is preferred. However, based on the cost and the complexity of industrial production, using wireless network for data transmission in actual applications are often more advantages.In this paper, we design a smelting electric furnace running power wireless monitoring system based on ZigBee. The system consists of PC, a wireless communication node routing nodes, the number of wireless communication and several wireless measurement and control nodes, The system consists of PC, a wireless communication gathering node, Several wireless routing nodes and several field wireless measurement and control nodes and, which can be flexible configured as required. Wireless measurement and control node is installed in smelting electric furnace power supply system, which realizes the acquisition of smelting work of electric power voltage, current, frequency, etc and the operational control of the smelting electric furnace power, and can communicate directly or via a router with gathering node. Routing node implementations in the convergence between gathering node and measurement and control nodes, and it can ensure the reliability of the various site conditions through the reasonable layout. PC is the centralized monitoring center of the whole system, it communicates with gathering node via a serial port, and it can implement power of the many sets of smelting electric furnace running state data for testing, wireless transmission and focus display, and it can start and stop of the smelting electric furnace power, it also can disable and enable the adjustable control operation.The experimental result shows that the design of the system achieved the expected function and performance requirements.
