With the advance of library building, dishonest behaviors among readers are becoming increasingly severe. Current response measures to such behaviors, due to the rigid management, fail to meet the library functions required by China’s current social and economic development. At the same time, the current mechanism directly leads to librarians’ lack of service awareness and sharply reduces readers’ stickiness on library. In such a situation, it is unlikely to meet the current needs by simple changes to library management, and only the shift of ideology and management concept can help libraries offer better service to users.Against the above backdrop and in response to China’s current situation, this paper puts forwards a new and practical concept which combines traditional approaches and credit score system. That is to say, readers’ dishonest behaviors can be resolved by the adoption of a new method that integrates traditional management featuring regulation with reader credit score system which aims to improve readers’ self-management.First of all, this paper pinpoints the causes for readers’ dishonest behaviors by presenting an analysis of the currently adopted approaches and their defects.Second, after pinpointing the causes, this paper proposes solutions to such problems with the help of reader credit score system and explores the possibilities of assisting traditional solutions to readers’ dishonest behaviors with reader score system. Besides, this paper also comes up with the feasibility of revision as well as a revision plan. Finally, this paper argues and verifies the feasibility of a new reader credit management plan, explores its inherent problems and other potential problems that might occur in it usage, and also puts forwards some revisions and policies that may be required. The writer holds that in the current situation with severe dishonest behaviors and libraries’ inability to function as an information harbor, it is becoming increasingly difficulttoconductreadercreditmanagementwiththeaidoftraditionalregulationsandanin-depthstudyonreadercreditmanagementsystemhasbecomeimperative.
