Under the background of the aging of the population in the world is bigour country has already entered an aging society.Compared with other countries,population aging in our country present ageing population quantity,fast growth,uneven distribution of regional characteristics.And old before rich social situation,also makes our country’s pension problem is more serious.In the second world assembly on aging population puts forward the viewpoint that coping with aging,governments are set based on policy. Based on the existing social situation and aging status,our country government to develop a "on the basis of family endowment and community endowment as the backing.institution endowment to support" pension policy.At the same time under the influence of traditional thought and other aspects,most of the old man also choose home endowment way to spend their twilight years.As the important social group,the elderly living conditions and quality directly affect the physical and mental health of the elderly. Because elderly residential research starts late in our country,and more focused on the study on social endowment living and living environment design,lack of suitable house described the design and retrofit of exploratiTherefore,based on the urban elderly housing as the research object,from the psychology, behavioral science, medicine, design theory and interdisciplinary exchange, with a scientific point of physiological, psychological and behavior characteristics of the aged is analyzed, combined with the investigation and study,according to the characteristics of the old man, requirements, and living situation,will give full consideration to the elderly, the elderly residential existing problem analysis integration.Therefore, based on the urban elderly housing as the research object, from the psychology, behavioral science, medicine, design theory and interdisciplinary exchange, with a scientific point of physiological, psychological and behavior characteristics of the aged is analyzed, combined with the investigation and study,according to the characteristics of the old man, requirements, and living situation,will give full consideration to the elderly, the elderly residential existing problem analysis integration.Hoping to study for the elderly to build a healthy,safe,comfortable,accessible elderly indoor living environment, maximum limit prolonged independent life of the elderly, improve their quality of life,to achieve "the old time,old-aged’s providing" life goals. Hope this research also cause various fields of elderly residential design and optimum described modification.
