Our social aging degree is constantly deepening, supporting resources for the elderly are insufficient; the family structure tends to shrink and the social mobility is enhancing, the traditional family endowment is unsustainable; Institutional pension is in short supply and supply structure isn't reasonable, the social home endowment is already the main trend of the era. Home endowment bases on the family, this is bound to produce the demand for residential renovation for the elderly. Age-appropriate changes is to perform functional transformation on the residence, the public channel of residential building, residential district environment and public facilities and the environment outside of the residential area, and provide a sound family endowment service, to meet the demand of the elderly life, to conform to the elderly living habits and lifestyle. Age-appropriate-changes is a new thing in China, the social practice and theoretical exploration are still in their infancy.The thesis takes the two concepts--- home endowment and age-appropriate changes as the logical starting point, analyzes the old people's living demand, puts forward the principles of age-appropriate changes: safety and health, adjusting measures to local conditions, economical, comfortable and convenient. On this basis,it in detail introduces age-appropriate changes' contents of the indoor space, the public channel of residential building, public space of residential district, and emphasizes the introduction of IOT technology in the age-appropriate changes, to promote the intellectualized endowment. In addition, perfecting the supporting community home endowment service is also indispensable. The survey suggests that the elderly have a strong renovation will. This paper analyzes the optimal sources of funding of age-appropriate changes, explores the optimum operation mechanism of age-appropriate changes. In order to promote faster development of age-appropriate changes, we have to draw lessons from the existing experiences of developed countries and regions. This article also takes urban residential districts age-appropriate changes as example in Jiangxi province, carry on empirical study to some degree. Thus, put forward the paths of constructing age-appropriate changes in urban residential area, such as perfect the regulation and policy system of age-appropriate changes, promote the marketization and industrialization ofage-appropriate changes, increase financial support, and open up a variety of financing channels, etc. In the future, our residential design and construction, as well as the improvement of the whole public facilities and public service system, must fully consider age-appropriate, to create an elderly livable environment, which adapts to the needs of an aging society.
