Study On Scenic Byway Signage System Design And China Practice

In recent years, with the prosperity of the automobile civilization, from the driving tour has become a popular way of traveling, the road corridor gradually become the carrier of another way of traveling, and the public also began to put forward higher requirements on the road as an important public product. Good road planning and design should be able to coordinate the relationship between road and ecological environment, landscape planning, cultural protection, tourism and recreation, etc.Scenic byway signs system in addition to have the traffic function, more important is to guide the tourists as the scenic road history, geography, culture and so on, so that the content should be combined with the local situation, the use of text, images and other performance of the characteristics of the wind, guide the tourists to travel complete a scenic road. Scenic road signs on the one hand to provide tourists with information on the road, to help tourists can continue to move forward on the scenic road; on the other hand, it is also to be able to display the characteristics of the landscape, to attract tourists to understand the history and culture of the scenic byway. In the first part, the paper expounds the important concepts such as the identification and marking, the landscape road marking, way finding and way showing, and summarizes the innovation theory and the integration of multi discipline theories in the process of landscape planning and design;The second part, through the analysis of the national standard of American road traffic signs and road traffic signs, and then explore the relationship between the United States and the national standard, to pave the way for the construction of China’s landscape road marking system;In the third part, the paper analyzes the wayshowwing system of American landscape road, and extends the research object of this paper; In the fourth part, the paper studies the theory and design of the American landscape identification system, and uses the method of case study to draw the five main elements of scenic road marking system, the identification of the scenic road, the gateway logo, the guide sign, the visitor’s guide sign and the commentary mark;In the fifth part,based on two typical cases, American New York state scenic byway mark case and Essex scenic byway mark case of system research, draw experience and inspiration.In the sixth part, the dissertation explores the scenic byway identification system planning and design theory and reference of American case experience to construct a Chinese landscape identification theory framework, and Guizhou Jiang Vatican highway in for a practical example to application and demonstration of scenic road sign system theory and paradigm;Finally, the paper summarizes the theory and the case of the full text, and draws the conclusion and revelation, and points out the shortcomings and the future of the research in this paper.
