Vacuum booster production as a traditional manufacturing industry, faced with the decline in sales prices, rise in manufacturing costs and other problem. In order to ensure reasonable enterprise profitability, reduce manufacturing cost is an important goal, the relocation of the production line is one project in order to achieve this goal. Relocation of production lines influence suppliers, company inside and client a lot, mainly in QCD(Q: quality; C: cost; D: delivery). The longer the relocation of the project cycle, the greater the impact of QCD. Therefore, use effective project management tool for project schedule management to ensure that project objectives can be reached is very important.Based on the company’s project management methodology research and analysis, found that the presence of safety time too much, extended project schedule and other issues. To solve these problems, through a lot of study and research, to find a solution, that is the critical chain method. By studying the theory of critical chain, identify key chain of the project schedule, use 50% of the estimated time to compress task time, at the same time add buffer management, thereby reduce the project completion period, and ensure the project objectives achievement. The critical chain theory applied to the booster production line relocation project, compression the safety time of project tasks, reducing “the impact of student syndrome”, while for the case of resource conflict, adjusting the critical path of the project, to ensure that task in critical chain on time carry out. Not only the final project completed ahead of schedule, and to ensure project quality, while also reducing the cost of the project, the project was a huge success.
