Because China strongly implements the policy about agriculture, rural areas and peasantry, the contradictions and problems arise and gradually deepen during the development as well as construction of urban area. it has become a light spot in various fields how to renovate rural settlements orderly and reasonably based on such background. Although there are many related theory researches and practice achievements.All walks of life, there are relatively few researches about rural settlements update using typology.Heilongjiang, as the largest percentage of cultivated land and highest grain output province in China, its rural settlements renovation condition Signifies significant strategic meaning to China’s development. This article selected Harbin, Daqing as well as Tsitsihar as the research’s objects which are three typical and representative regions being superior in geographic positions, economy, environment, culture and other aspects.At first,this essay settled and summarized systematically about domestic and abroad rural settlements, update research theories and practical cases. Moreover, based on the theory of typology, a large amount of resources’ collection and field trips, this essay summarized the motivations and difficulties that rural settlements update faces. Then picking out a raw model of macroscopic, mesoscale and microcosmic dimensions, combining China’s development direction, policy making, scheme and guiding as well as regional update requirements to transform among different types, the article illustrated the necessary conditions for the Harbin, Daqing and Tsitsihar regional rural settlements.Overall, based on previous analysis and typology utilization of rural settlements update in Harbin, Daqing and Tsitsihar regions, this essay comes up with a corresponding proposal about the update model of rural settlements from macroscopic, mesoscale and microcosmic dimensions which determine the principles and methods of rural settlements update.
