As an important multicultural routes in Ming and Qing Dynasties, there are thousandsof theatrical buildings with different types and styles distributed on the emigrationroutes of Huguang-Sichuan. The buildings became an important part of the public orprivate recreational activities. Traditional theatrical buildings act as a very importantrole in people·s lives. In addition, they also reflect many cultural connotations offeudal ritual, divine right, the arts and folk customs. As an important public buildingin settlements, traditional theatrical buildings have certain regularity for its planningselection, spatial arrangement, plan form, which reflects the unique diverse spatialform associated with their local performance forms on the cultural route. From theirspatial features, traditional theatrical buildings on cultural route include affiliatedtheatrical buildings (such as temple theatre, assembly hall theatre, ancestral templetheatre, yard theatre, etc.) and independent theatrical buildings (such as perpetualtheatre, square theatre, arcade theatre, Caotai stage, etc.).Selecting Ming and Qing Dynasties of traditional theatrical buildings activeconstruction as a time entry point and Huguang-Sichuan multicultural routes of richgeographic information as geographical clues, this subject aim to conduct acomprehensive and systematic investigation, analysis, combing, analog and researchlong in history,rich in type, widely distributed in the field of traditional buildings·development of history, types of research and basic shapes with entities and space, inorder to clarify the traditional buildings· status in history and reality, the architecturalfeatures of entities (such as stage, play room, balcony and main hall) and space (suchas square, atrium and courtyard.) in Huguang-Sichuan multicultural routes.
