The Yu-culture was born from the ancient Sichuan and spread to all parts of China,from which formed the first Yuwang palace.With the “great migration of Huguang immigrants” in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the Yu-culture was brought back at stage in the shape of Huguang assembly hall to its cradle and some other places in China.The distribution of Yuwang palace and Huguang assembly hall is closely related to the Huguang migration activities along the range of Yellow River,the Yangtze River,and the Jinghan Railway.The inheritance and evolution of the Yuwang Palace and the Huguang assembly hall also reflect the evolution of immigrant faith and witness the changes of immigrant society.The thesis takes the activity of Huguang immigration as a clue,and the main research object are the Yuwang Palace and Huguang assembly hall in China.Through the reading of historical documents,a total of 176 nationally recorded Yuwang palaces and Huguang assembly halls(Attached Table 1),as well as 67 existing Yuwang Palace and Huguang assembly hall(Attached Table 2)were compiled from which The field investigation of 29 Yuwang Palace and Huguang Hall were taken by author.By studying the materials above,the author tries to summarize the inheritance and evolution of the Yuwang Palace and the Huguang assembly hall from the perspective of immigration culture.Thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is mainly an overview of the basic concepts and mutual relations between the Yu culture and the activities of Huguang migration.The second part discusses the relationship among the distribution of the Yuwang Palace,the Huguang assembly Hall and the activities of Huguang migration in detail.The third part explores the commonalities between Yuwang Palace and Huguang assembly Hall at three levels which contains site selection,architectural form and structural decoration from the perspective of architecture.In the fourth part,13 cases with obvious characteristics and representativeness from the field survey were selected from which to discover the specificity through historical establishment and construction status.The fifth part analyzes the inheritance and evolution of the Yuwang Palace and the Huguang assembly hall from the perspective of immigration culture by the conclusions of the first four parts.
