The material delivery system is an important part of logistics system, and it ensures that the rightmaterial is delivered to the right people to do the right job at the specified time. So the materialdelivery system is the key part of production logistic in a factory. But until now, the enterprises stilluse traditional distribution models which easily cause many problems such as material management inchaos, inefficient material distribution and stockpiling problems on the spot, where the productionefficiency and logistics smoothness are the biggest problem.Taking an enterprise whose main business is final assembly of aerospace products as background, the material distribution technique for lean assembly is studied, in order to realize the just-in-timedelivery. After study, a material delivery system for lean assembly of aerospace products is designedand developed. It provides an effective solution to improve the logistics and assembly efficiency.Firstly, in this paper the main problem of material delivery in lean assembly is raised; the relateddelivery theory is introduced and the characteristics of the final assembly of aerospace products areanalyzed. Secondly, the feasibility of real-time material distribution from the point of view of thephysical structure and architecture is analyzed, including distribution equriments and the relatedidentification technology. Thirdly, according to the peculiarity of the study object, a real-time materialreplenishment approach of “first kitting, and then material delivery” is proposed. The relatedoptimized technology is studied according to the several key factors of materials classfiction anddelivery process. The detailes are as follows:(1) Analyzing the way of delivery for different materials, two distribution methods are putforward: VMI and Storeage area distribution.(2) To shorten the assembly time, an optimized kitting sequence model is established based onthe analysis of the material constraints in the enterprise. The validity of the rule is proved using acertain model.(3) Material distribution process is established. Combination of material kanban, an optimizedmodel of line inventory is designed to meet the demand of the just-in-time material delivery accordingto the consumption of line materials.(4) An assembly-oriented material delivery system is established, putting forward the changingfrom passive distribution to active delivery and the delivery process is designed. (5) Based on the requirement analysis and the design principles of software system, thearchitecture and the business module of the material delivery system are built-up. At the same time, the functional process and the information flow are given and the database is designed.(6) The development environment and key technologies of the material delivery system arediscussed. The prototype system is designed on JavaEE architecture and Java, JSP are used for thedevelopment language. Meanwhile, the emphasis is placed at the function block design. Finally, the main results of the study in this paper are summarized and the direction in next stepis pointed out.
