Automated Mechanical Transmission (AMT) is widely applied in heavy truck. The driver always tired and slow-witted with frequent shift operation when they drive a heavy truck, which is very dangerous for them. The operation will be reduced largely after the AMT is used, which is great help for safe-driving. In addition, AMT is very energy-efficient that can save a pretty penny for the truck owner. Road-test is an inefficient way when we test an AMT product, so people usually use test-bench instead. The core of AMT test-bench is the testing-controlling system, which is mainly studied and designed in this paper.Following contents are included in this paper.1. The AMT system is studied. The basic parameter and electronic control system of AMT are detailed studied. The work patterns of the actuators are explained using schematic diagram that is the theoretical foundation of the measurement and control system design.2. The AMT test-bench is built and the component was described, especially for the loading device and the power device. The results and the counting processes of the inertia value of the detachable inertia fly wheel with different combination are given. The design of the drive system and the mounting plate and the power supply cabinet are described briefly.3. The communication system is designed base on serial communication module and CAN communication module. The hardware framework of AMT test-bench testing-controlling system is designed, the components are chosen such as sensors and data acquisition cards. Several circuit diagrams are designed for different sensors. The serial communication module and the CAN communication module are self-tested via a communication experiment.4. The general plan of AMT test-bench testing-controlling system is described. The main display interface and the relevant block diagram are designed. The logon interface is designed and the jump function is accomplished via dynamic invocation. The error report function and the data storage function are added. The signal is filtered using the digital filter in LabVIEW library. We have analyzed the date collected by this testing-controlling system, and the result shows that this testing-controlling meets the requirement of AMT testing.
