The Research Of The Layout Of Front Page Of People’ Daily Between May15^th.1946and Jan1^st.2013

<People’s Daily>is a party newspaper with a special layout style. On the one hand, as the official newspaper of Chinese Communist Party Central Committee,<People’s Daily> Shoulders the task of guiding the direction of public opinion. Therefore, its’layout style is of gravity and decency. On the other hand, with the development of the times, as a Print media with a large number of readers,<People’s Daily> also tries with various methods to make its’ layout more of flexibility, as well as to improve its quality in respect of service and readability. The front page of <People’s Daily> epitomizes its’ layout style. This article uses the method of both content analysis and case study to discuss the style and features of the front page of <People’s Daily> published between May.15th,1946(Jinchaji Daily founded) and Jan.1st,2013.Chapter one is the introduction of this article, embraces literature review, research background, the meaning, method, and innovation of this research.Chapter two is the summary of the the course of developmental changes of the front page of<People’s Daily>, mainly uses the method of exploratory research.Chapter three applies the stratified random sampling method to analysis the uasge of news articles and pictures of the<People’s Daily> front page, covering the aspects of content, length and types of literature.Chapter four is case study. The research targets are some of the most important layout arrangements of<People’s Daily> front page, including news reports of important meetings, domestic and foreign activities of state leaders, public paroxysmal incident, deaths of state leaders and important communities, and model deeds. The differences and similarities of these layouts are discussed.Chapter five is the summary and revelation.
