Research And Implementation Of New Community Informational Thin-Client Software System

This paper comes from the project---"Low Cost, Low Energy Consumption, High Reliable Embedded Terminal and Information Services Platform". The project team is led by Professor Dongfeng Yuan of the School of Information Science and Engineering of Shandong University. The content of this thesis is based on the project.With the development of society, information has become an inevitable trend. From the countryside to the city, from domestic to abroad, informatization is being constructed like a raging fire. As the community regional areas, strengthen the community informatization construction level, improve the quality of life of the masses is becoming an important measure, promote community development level.Through the research on the technology of home and abroad, this paper found that on the market today, thin client used the embedded system or X86architecture design as it hardware, and the thin client of X86architecture used operating system of the Microsoft Corp, and the structure of embedded thin client used the embedded Linux operating system or Android operating system as it software system. However, what we should concern is that the current products on the market, almost uses the foreign giant IT’s chips and operating system, and the real localization technology is not applied to this field.This paper first introduces the ARM platform and the embedded operating system, which makes the reader have a full understanding of ARM from the two aspects of architecture application scenario of ARM and ARM chip reader. Then the thesis introduces the two CPU of thin client, S3C6410and Cortex A9, and two kinds of embedded operating system, embedded Linux and Android. This lets the reader have a full range of understanding on the platform and operating system.This paper described the basic information of the informational thin-client, including the hardware module design, the function design, the principle diagram design and the PCB layout design. It explains the basic situation of the informational thin-client used by the project step by step.The paper also illustrates the design of the software which is used in the informational thin-client, including communication software designing, the embedded system OTA server implementation, video hardware decoding function, and the Webkit browser function making. It illustrates the diversity of software system from various aspects. It really meets the basic requirements of the "thin" of the "thin client", and also meet the needs of people’s daily life.To sum up, the paper introduces the basic situation of project from point to surface, from the module to the system, showing the image of a durable, easy to use thin client system.
